What is the required qualification for NIFT UG Entrance exam?

NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) conducts its entrance exam annually for both the masters and bachelor’s programs. There are a few qualification criterion you’ll need to meet if you want to apply. And, we ‘re here to tell you what all those are. We’ll be talking about only the bachelor’s program in this blog. 

First of all there is a qualifying age. The maximum age needs to be less than 24 years as of 1st August of the year of admission. The upper age limit can be relaxed by 5 years for people from the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Person with disability(PWD categories).

Back to the main topic. There are 2 degrees offered under the bachelor’s program:

Bachelor of Design (B. Des) Programmes

1. Passed the Plus 2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi / Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi. 

or 

2. A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects. 

or 

3. Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system. 

or 

4. General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB).

Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B. F. Tech) Programme

1. Passed the Plus 2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi / Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics and Mathematics. 

2. A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics and Mathematics. 

or 

3. Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics and Mathematics. 

or 

4. General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics and Mathematics / International Baccalaureate (IB).

That's about it for the initial documents. You will be required to submit more documents after admission though.
