No, there is no interview round for the NIFT undergraduate programs. NIFT entrance exam is conducted annually around February. The exam has 2 rounds. The first round has 2 parts.
Part A and Part B.
Part A, the CAT (Creative Ability Test), comprises of the drawing and imagination-based questions. They usually ask 3 questions.
Part B, the GAT (General Ability Test), comprises of questions based on mathematics, English grammar and current affairs.
For detailed syllabus refer to our other blogs.
Both of these are conducted on the same day. Only when an applicant clears the first round, can he/she proceed for the second round.
The second round consists of the studio tests. Yep, you heard that right. Even though there are no interviews, NIFT does take studio tests for the second round. These usually happen on the premises of on the NIFT’s closest to your residence. The tasks given are like, making a model and then also preparing a write up with it.
Even though NIFT doesn’t have a formal interview round, it does have some personal interviews and group discussions for specific programs. These are conducted to asses how you talk, how you lead and how you deal with team problems.
NIFT does conduct interviews for its PG programs, and we have a blog on it too!
All of this changes, so for the most up to date information about the exam structure and marking, please visit the NIFT official website at; https://www.nift.ac.in/
